Generational Capital Markets, Inc., Member FINRA/SIPC, announced the sale of its client, R&S Drugs Inc. of Duncan, Oklahoma, to a private investor. The acquisition closed January 6, 2017. Details were not disclosed.

Founded in 1945, R&S Drugs Inc. operates three community pharmacies in Duncan, which has a population of about 23,000. Combined, the three pharmacies fill approximately 250,000 prescriptions annually.

Majority owner Joe Pierce, a beloved fixture in Duncan, was passionate about finding a buyer who would continue to serve the patients of Duncan with the same care and attention he has provided for the last several decades.

Fortunately the buyer, a pharmacist with a background in pharmacy ownership and management, shares Pierce’s commitment to superior service to the community.

Generational Capital Markets Managing Directors Tom Staszak and Chris Gain successfully closed the deal.

“Although R&S Drugs generated interest from several other potential acquirers, Joe Pierce was focused on maintaining local ownership of the company,” said Staszak. “Selling the company to a person that already had a minority ownership position in R&S Drugs assured the existing commitment to outstanding personal service and local involvement will continue.”
