As this will be our last insight for 2017, and given that the spirit of the season is upon us, we wanted to take this opportunity to say:

WE WISH YOU A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY SEASON AND A PROSPEROUS AND DELIGHTFUL NEW YEAR!

As an organization, we have much to be thankful for this year. In November we learned that The M&A Advisor had named us Investment Banking Firm of the Year for 2017, repeating the same feat we achieved in 2016.

On top of this, we were also recognized in a number of deal categories including:

• Consumer Staples Deal Of The Year (Under $100MM): Acquisition of Ellison Bakery by Blackford Capital
• Utilities Deal of the Year: Acquisition of Red Wolf Company LLC by Broadwind Energy Inc.
• Corporate/Strategic Deal of the Year (From $10MM – $25MM): Acquisition of Red Wolf Company LLC by Broadwind Energy Inc.

By early December we had passed our two-year-old record in terms of deals closed, having our best year ever, and with 10 days left in the month should beat all forecasts of deal closings for the firm. In 2017, for the ninth year in a row, we are anticipating that we will once again be one of the top-ranked M&A advisory firms in North America based on Thomson Reuter’s league tables. Finally, we are also nearing $4 billion in total wealth transferred to our clients since our inception.

Although we are very thankful for these industry awards and rankings, and for the prosperous year 2017 turned out to be, what we are most thankful for are the clients we get to work with each and every day.

It is truly an honor to help business owners and their families achieve their financial dreams. We work very hard as a team to help them reach their goals as part of an exit strategy and we take our responsibility as their M&A advisor to heart.
