James Carr is a Senior Managing Director at Generational Group. He joined the firm in 2008.

Mr. Carr’s track record as an investment banker and business owner provides him with the experience necessary to advise business owners on every aspect of selling their company for maximum value. He believes that how and when a business owner exits, will be one of the most important financial events of their lives and his mission is to make sure his clients do it right.

Mr. Carr brings over 30 years of business strategy, mergers and acquisition and finance experience to the firm.

Prior to joining Generational Group, Mr. Carr served 17 years at JP Morgan Chase and CitiFinancial where he led teams that acquired, integrated and sold companies that exceeded $2 billion in transaction value. As an entrepreneur, Mr. Carr has also had success in forming, acquiring, growing and exiting 3 businesses for his own portfolio.

Mr. Carr serves his community as a member of The United Way and Big Brothers and Sisters of Tarrant County. He also serves on the board of two non- profit organizations where he provides consulting and financing to help and feed those in need.

Mr. Carr earned a double major in finance and economics where he graduated magna cum laude from The University of North Texas. He also holds a certificate in Negotiation Mastery from Harvard Business School.
